In 1991, NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett was a 34-year-old driver, striving to make a name for himself at the highest level of NASCARĀ®. In his second year with the legendary Wood Brothers Racing team, Jarrett was driving the No. 21 Citgo Ford. And while he was showing promise, 18 races into the season he had yet to find Victory Lane.

All that changed on the last lap of the 1991 Champion Spark Plug 400 at Michigan Speedway. A gas-only call by Eddie Wood on the last pit stop gave Jarrett the lead with 11 laps to go. Battling door-to-door with Davey Allison, Jarrett won his first Cup Series race by inches as his No. 21 Citgo Ford took the checkered flag.
